Why PDF to Word is the hardest conversion to get right

A PDF stores positioned glyphs and images — it has no concept of paragraphs, tables, or styles. Converting to Word means reconstructing that structure from visual layout alone, which is why cheap converters produce documents full of text boxes, broken tables, and unusable spacing. The quality of the reconstruction engine is everything.

Getting the best conversion results

Digital PDFs (exported from Word, Google Docs, or design tools) convert nearly perfectly. Scanned documents need OCR first, since there is no text to extract from an image — enable the OCR option or run the file through Scan to PDF beforehand.

Tables convert to real Word tables — check merged cells afterward, they are the most common cleanup.
Multi-column layouts are reconstructed as columns, but complex magazine layouts may simplify.
Custom fonts are mapped to the closest match unless you have them installed.
The output opens in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and LibreOffice alike.

We say this plainly because you deserve to know where your document goes — many services imply everything is local when it is not.
