WEBP vs AVIF: what changes when you convert
WEBP (WebP) was introduced in 2010 by Google and is best known for website images — smaller than jpg and png at the same quality. AVIF (AV1 Image File Format), created by the Alliance for Open Media (Google, Netflix, Mozilla), is the better choice when you need maximum web compression — typically 50% smaller than jpg.
