What does it mean to host a PDF?+

PDF hosting puts your document behind a web link so recipients can read it in their browser. PurePDF creates a focused PDF viewer instead of forcing the recipient to download an attachment.

How do I create a link for a PDF?+

Open the Host a PDF workspace, select a PDF, choose an expiry, optionally add a password, and press Host. After you sign in, PurePDF uploads the document and returns a short shareable link.

Can I password-protect a hosted PDF?+

Yes. Add a password before publishing. The password is hashed and never shown to viewers or administrators. A recipient must unlock the document before the PDF bytes are served.

Do viewers need a PurePDF account?+

No. Anyone with an active link can open the browser reader. If you set a password, they only need that password.

Can I make a PDF link expire?+

Yes. Links can expire after one hour, one day, one week, one month, or remain active until you unpublish them. Expired files are removed from storage.

Can recipients download the PDF?+

The hosted-PDF experience is preview-only in this version. PurePDF serves the file inline to its browser reader and does not show a download control.

What is the difference between Host a PDF and Share Files?+

Host a PDF opens the document in a polished browser reader. PurePDF Share is a separate temporary file-drop tool designed to deliver downloadable files.

Can I unpublish a PDF later?+

Yes. Signed-in publishers can copy links and unpublish documents from Account → Hosted PDFs. Unpublishing disables the link and removes the stored PDF.
