Is PurePDF really free?
Yes. Every tool on the site works today with no account, no watermark and no daily cap, except AI translation, which has paid plans because it costs us money per page. The tool plans on this page are optional, and they raise limits rather than unlocking tools that were withheld.
Can I buy a tool plan right now?
Not yet. Starter, Plus and Max are planned, not on sale — the prices are published so you know what they will cost, and the buttons add you to the list instead of charging you. Nothing asks for a card, and we will email you once they are live.
Why is translation priced separately?
Translation is the one tool with a real cost attached to every page — it spends money with a language model each time. Merge, compress and the rest either run in your browser or cost us almost nothing, so they are limited only by numbers we chose. Different economics, different page. You can translate the first 2 pages of any document free to judge the quality before paying.
What happens to the free tiers if I do not subscribe?
Nothing. The free limits on this page are the ones in force today and a paid tier does not shrink them. If that ever changes it will be announced here and in the changelog before it takes effect.
How does PurePDF make money?
Advertising funds the free tools, and paid plans fund AI PDF translation, which spends money with a language model on every page. We do not sell your files, and we do not use uploaded documents to train anything.
Do my files get uploaded?
It depends on the tool, and every tool page says so on the page itself. Most run entirely in your browser. Merge PDF and the image converters process on our servers and delete files within 10 minutes; the Office converters use Adobe PDF Services, which does not retain files.
