PNG vs HEIC: what changes when you convert
PNG (Portable Network Graphics) was introduced in 1996 by the PNG Development Group as a GIF replacement and is best known for logos, screenshots, ui graphics, images that need transparency. HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container), created by the MPEG group; adopted by Apple in iOS 11, is the better choice when you need iphone camera photos (half the size of jpg at the same quality).
