AVIF vs WEBP: what changes when you convert
AVIF (AV1 Image File Format) was introduced in 2019 by the Alliance for Open Media (Google, Netflix, Mozilla) and is best known for maximum web compression — typically 50% smaller than jpg. WEBP (WebP), created by Google, is the better choice when you need website images — smaller than jpg and png at the same quality.
