El PDF se queda en tu navegador · solo se envían las páginas renderizadas

PDF vs AVIF: what changes when you convert

PDF (Portable Document Format) was introduced in 1993 by Adobe and is best known for documents, printing, sharing multi-page content. AVIF (AV1 Image File Format), created by the Alliance for Open Media (Google, Netflix, Mozilla), is the better choice when you need maximum web compression — typically 50% smaller than JPG.

Why convert? AVIF files are typically much smaller than PDF — expect a noticeable reduction in file size.

Each page of your PDF is rendered as a separate AVIF image, so a 10-page document produces 10 images ready to use in slides, websites, or messages.

Preguntas frecuentes

Respuestas rápidas sobre esta herramienta de PurePDF.

How do I convert PDF to AVIF?

Upload your PDF file on this page. PurePDF opens the conversion workspace with AVIF preselected — click Convert and collect the finished files from the download hub.

Will converting PDF to AVIF reduce quality?

No. AVIF supports lossless compression, so every pixel of your PDF image is preserved exactly.

What resolution are the AVIF images?

Pages are rendered at roughly twice their on-screen size, or three times on the High quality setting — enough detail to read small print and to print the result.

Do scanned PDFs work?

Yes. A scanned page is already an image, so it converts to AVIF exactly as it appears in the document.

How much smaller will my file be as AVIF?

It depends on the image content, but AVIF typically produces significantly smaller files than PDF. Photographic images see the biggest savings.

Is the PDF to AVIF converter free?

Yes — free with no signup, no watermarks, and no daily task limit.

Are my files private?

Files are transferred over encrypted HTTPS, processed, and automatically deleted from our servers within minutes. Nothing is stored, shared, or used for anything else.

Can I convert every page of the PDF?

Yes. Every page is converted, one AVIF image per page, and a document of more than one page is delivered as a zip.
