BMP vs PNG: what changes when you convert
BMP (Bitmap Image File) was introduced in 1987 by Microsoft and is best known for legacy Windows applications. PNG (Portable Network Graphics), created by the PNG Development Group as a GIF replacement, is the better choice when you need logos, screenshots, UI graphics, images that need transparency.
