SVG vs BMP: what changes when you convert
SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) was introduced in 2001 by the W3C and is best known for icons, logos, and illustrations that must stay sharp at any size. BMP (Bitmap Image File), created by Microsoft, is the better choice when you need legacy Windows applications.
Why convert? BMP files are usually larger than SVG, but you gain legacy Windows applications. Note that SVG transparency is not supported in BMP — transparent areas are filled with a white background.

What happens to transparency when converting to BMP?
BMP does not support transparency. Transparent areas in your SVG file are filled with a solid white background. If you need to keep transparency, convert to PNG or WebP instead.

BMP is a still-image format, so the first frame of the animation is converted. To keep motion, use a video format or keep the original.
Why is my BMP file larger than the original SVG?
