Drop a PDF here, then continue to the conversion workspace.

Pages are rendered by your own browser, so the document is never uploaded. Anything that does go out is deleted within minutes.

PDF vs BMP: what changes when you convert

PDF (Portable Document Format) was introduced in 1993 by Adobe and is best known for documents, printing, sharing multi-page content. BMP (Bitmap Image File), created by Microsoft, is the better choice when you need legacy Windows applications.

Why convert? BMP files are usually larger than PDF, but you gain legacy Windows applications.

Each page of your PDF is rendered as a separate BMP image, so a 10-page document produces 10 images ready to use in slides, websites, or messages.

Preguntas frecuentes

Respuestas rápidas sobre esta herramienta de PurePDF.

How do I convert PDF to BMP?

Upload your PDF file on this page. PurePDF opens the conversion workspace with BMP preselected — click Convert and collect the finished files from the download hub.

What resolution are the BMP images?

Pages are rendered at roughly twice their on-screen size, or three times on the High quality setting — enough detail to read small print and to print the result.

Do scanned PDFs work?

Yes. A scanned page is already an image, so it converts to BMP exactly as it appears in the document.

Why is my BMP file larger than the original PDF?

BMP prioritizes compatibility over compression, so files are usually larger than PDF. That is normal and expected.

Is the PDF to BMP converter free?

Yes — free with no signup, no watermarks, and no daily task limit.

Are my files private?

Files are transferred over encrypted HTTPS, processed, and automatically deleted from our servers within minutes. Nothing is stored, shared, or used for anything else.

Can I convert every page of the PDF?

Yes. Every page is converted, one BMP image per page, and a document of more than one page is delivered as a zip.
